GNM Chandlery stocks a wide variety of polyethylene staple, polypropylene, superdan, nylon, polyethylene, lead core and dynamica ropes.

PE - Staple Rope is soft on the hand, easy to handle and flexible. It's hairs on the surface make good grip at the hand.
High ultra-violet stabilization
Applications are
fish-farming, lashing, anchor   rope and general purpose.

Polypropylene rope has nearly twice the strength of Manila rope when compared size to size. The rope has positive buoyancy (floats) and doesn't absorb water, rot or decay. It is resistance to acid, alkali and most chemicals. When not in
use the rope should be stored away from direct sunlight. Recommended usages are mooring, dock and anchor line, boat life-line, tarpaulin line, tent tie-down, pool barrier line, public utility and general use in home, farm and industry.

Advanced Durability
Excellent anti-abrasion properties contribute to a long working life (Over 10% when compared to standard ropes) and high UV light resistance.

Super Strength

Nylon rope exceeds twice the strength of Manila. It has high elongation (underload) when compared to other synthetic ropes. Nylon has high energy absorption under shock and good abrasion resistance.
50% better breaking strength compared to BS
and ISO standards and specifications and a cost effective super strength rope.

Variety of Applications

A multi purpose rope ideal for general industrial
& commercial fishing applications and an excellent rope for deep sea pot rope use.

SUPERDAN 3 Strand & SUPERDAN 8 Plait Mooring Rope available
When combined, these characteristics
make nylon rope the best handling compared to other synthetics. It is utilized in marine use such
as mooring lines, towing slings, commercial
fishing, utility rope, leisure and sailing.

Polyethylene rope has positive buoyancy (floats) but is slightly heavier than polypropylene rope. Tensile strength remains the same dry or wet. Commonly used in commercial fishing and industrial applications.

Lead Core rope is manufactured from fibre wrapped lead lines so as to make the rope heavy manila rope. Lead Core ropes are used in commercial fishing, particularly as net bottom lines.

DYNAMICA rope is made from Dyneema fibres produced in Holland. Dyneema is one of the strongest fibres in the world. The rope has excellent properties with regard to strength, weight, UV-stability (daylight), safety, abrasion, tension fatigue, bending fatigue. DYNAMICA rope is the most compact Dyneema rope in the world.

DYNAMICA rope is produced in Denmark on state of the art machinery, to ensure the best obtainable quality. It is coated with a unique coating that ensures shape stability and increased abrasion resistance for longer working-life. DYNAMICA rope is heat-set under tension to ensure maximum strength, durability and uniformity.

Dyneema Fibre Properties - Strength
Dyneema is more than ten times stronger than steel per unit of weight. This means that a Dyneema rope has a slightly higher strength than a steel wire of the same dimension - but less than one tenth of the weight.

Dyneema Fibre Properties - Tension-tension fatigue
Dyneema can sustain a very large number of peak loads (loads close to the breaking strength). This gives a long life and a high safe-working load. While steel-wire can take 6500 loads at 50 % of the maximum breaking load a DYNAMICA rope can take 10 million cycles at the same load level. DYNAMICA rope is therefore an excellent material for dynamic applications.

Dyneema Fibre Properties - Safety
Dyneema has a very low elongation (2-3% at break). It stores little energy and has therefore little backlash - even at hundreds of tonnes of load. This is a very important safety-feature.

Dyneema Fibre Properties - UV-stability
Dyneema has a better stability to sunlight than other relevant fibres. After two years of exposure 80% of the strength is retained.

Dyneema Fibre Properties - Resistance to chemical substances
Dyneema is resistant to chemical substances and will not be affected by oil acids or other substances.

Dyneema Fibre Properties - Abrasion
Dyneema has an excellent abrasion resistance compared with other synthetic fibres (five times better than polyester). Special care has to be taken, however, in order to ensure that it moves over clean non-rusty surfaces etc. Sharp edges etc. should be avoided.

Dyneema Fibre Properties - Bending-bending fatigue
Dyneema has good bending-bending properties. However it is recommended to bend over diameters of at least five times the diameter of the rope.

Applications
Offshore applications, Fisheries (Bridels, Gilson lines, seam lines, front end meshes), Lifting applications
Mooring, Towing
